GOST R CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMITY

As from 1992 Russian law came into force making it mandatory that a wide range of products destined for the Russian Federation are tested and certified in accordance with the GOST standards.

The range of products can be split in the following categories:

- Foodstuffs
- Consumer goods
- Industrial machinery and equipment

The GOST Certificate of Conformity allows these products to enter the Russian Federation.

Russian GOST certification system is under review at current and instead of the GOST R Certificate of Conformity the GOST CTR or GOST Declaration of Conformity may now be required. Also due to the new customs union between Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus exporters are confronted with problems with their current certification. Finally the Russian Hygiene certification changed substantially which makes the situation for exporters even more complex at present.
